Of the same tired troll.
I guess he is trying the multi-pronged assault at this point.

I have a couple of questions.

Where was it you said this forum was headed?

What is a "handbasket"?

Please get back on your medication. You were almost tolerable for a while after the kind folks kicked your ass off of Deadhook. You even participated in coherent music related discussion here a couple of times.

Now youre just an asshole again. Please take your meds!

They have changed Smi2les meds to Snow/widow MMJ and Twinkes. So Far so edgey.

Well, I for one continue to be amazed by the ongoing functionality of the place...lots of nonsense posts, of course, BUT I daresay you cannot find more consistent discussion on all the important topics on a daily basis...just yesterday, I learned a great deal about 1) Bob and 2) keyboard transitions from 68-72...

Folks still seem to get their undies in a bunch as a result of some of this activity, but overall, given the thick skin all have acquired, what I notice is that other than the occasional "Fuck You!" we don't seem to have the long digressions centered around name calling that were the historical outcome...hand wringing over "what to do?!" and more "what to do!?!" just haven't been so common.

And, there are so many posts by folks with odd names now that I'd be hard pressed to figure out who's who, and in fact, often they seem funny or even insightful, so finally have come around to embracing the original advice of the sage old timers hereabouts: just let it be and it will take care of itself.

I will say, Bill, I just can't seem to generate the interest over at Hook--can't ever seem to engage in a consistent back & forth with anyone, other than a handful, but those are generally just superficial exchanges, humor, etc. Not knocking it, just doesn't seem to work for me...probably on too many ignore lists, eh?

"Well, I for one continue to be amazed by the ongoing functionality of the place.."..Agreed

"Folks still seem to get their undies in a bunch as a result of some of this activity,"...and it still degenerates to the occasional "school yard" banter, but at least the historic paranoia seems to be gone

"And, there are so many posts by folks with odd names now that I'd be hard pressed to figure out who's who"..hell you can't even tell the players WITH a scorecard 'cause they're in the dugout changing jerseys between plays

"can't seem to generate the interest over at Hook"...Long ago I defended Hook from a claim of cliquishness. For the most part, I will stick with that defense. The exception seems to be GD related discussions. Those "in the know" can carry on those discussions freely while "lesser deadheads" are ignored.

"but those are generally just superficial exchanges, humor, etc"...guilty, as charged. You see I have given up trying to discuss Grateful Dead at DEADhook....see above

"probably on too many ignore lists, eh? "...Possible, but not probable. But, you never know when it could happen to any of us.

"Ignore lists"....wonder if we could initiate those here?

Hey B--of course, you, DMax, GoP and perhaps Beka have entered into a number of exchanges with me, and it's not like I have "posting response envy", but I wonder if in part it's the case that there are a few more early era fans over here? IE, I know just what you mean about the "in the know folks", most of whom I respect and have benefited from on techno tidbits (ie, they have responded to direct questions when I need help, etc.), but perhaps most of them are just a bit ahead of me in terms of their focus (ie, 70s & 80s)...Thus, they just don't tend to jump in when we might be talking about acoustic songs (case in point: I focused on 70, and the others focused on 80).

what IS going on over there Bill - or lack of going on - seems strangely dead on the hook over the past several weeks (or atleast since i went back - heh, maybe that is the reason).

are people just bailing over there, or just nothing new to say. this is a non-judgmental question, just seems eerily odd.

I can't explain it. The vibe is definitely strange right now. I am beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable there, but that's probably just me being paranoid. The "old vibe" was pretty evident in the "Phish Phrenzy" thread of the past couple of days.

Noisecollector made it clear once or twice before.
The multi-named posters could be eliminated by having
a system that requires that e-mail address's be checked.

When someone signs up they have to give a legitimate address
and then reply to an e-mail to post the first time.

Of course in the grand scheme of things this isn't exactly
earth shattering in importance.

And, I'm not those other people, not those particular ones
anyway.

I love Bob and Phil and Mickey and Bill and everything about
the band, good and less good, warts and all.

And anyone who questions Bob's musical abilities....whatever. I don't think he personally has any second thoughts about what he's accomplished. And neither do I.

Wouldn't work, the main troll just uses as many e-mail addresses as he needs to... He will never go away from a public forum.

Here's a pic of him in between crafting posts:

Hey K-man--you have answered the question I posed below (I wondered if they might be compatriots--your site is the Sailor one, right?--but trust me, NOT because they were misbehaving or some such [I have not read all their (?) posts, but a few seemed reasonable).
